Objective :

identify and propose THREE (3) numbers of details for selected element or part of the building apart from providing the necessary plans, section and elevations.

The 3 ARCHITECTURAL DETAILINGS cover the following designs in your studio project:

1) Roof
2) Superstructure (wall/slab/staircase etc.) 

3) Joint and connection 

 

This being the final is a continutation from the previous breif and also conjoins with Design Studio 2, which is the Retreat House. In this project we were to develop legit construction aspects that were specific to our model in studio. We were required to showcase and demonstrate the knowledge obtained from the previous project which was the site visit and report, and apply what we know to this assignment.Having to apply emphasis in producing related manual construction drawing for STEEL and/or TIMBER detail and specification. As well as to relate constrctuion to stie and location.

 

Reflection :

Knowledge wise, I have a better understanding of the different uses of steel and timber, to a much greater extent. Furtheremore in relation to applying construction aspect to our own work, is challnging as there are many options that could be used instead of the other, therefore in the time of selecting what is best suited for a design different elements needs to be taken into consideration, for instance what is benificial of the design what materials compliments or constrasts it, what aesthetic and site specific values there are as well the type of detailing and finishes that could all effect the design intentions and finishing.
