Finally, the chance to be able to create our very own house/structure. This being the final project required of us to apply all that we have learnt from the previous projects. Being given a particular client in this case a ROMANTIC HIKER, and having to study, research, develope and evovle a design appropriately (site specific design). The goal & challange was to deal with site issues and come up with design solutions without compromising nature as well as to find the as close to perfect marination between user and site.

The whole idea behing this deisgn was to blend site and user as much as the traits allowed, trying to bring nature into the house itself. Thus creating a familiar form along with spaces, both using massing as well as addition and subtraction. Along wit the concept of VERTICALITY & TREES to allow the usage of materials and coaxing of shadows to create a romantic, cozy feeling within the home.

What I have learnt from this final studio, is the concept of proportions, to make a design more appealing to the eye, as well as to combine an emotional characteristic to the occupation of the client. Having an area limit of 150m2 made this alittle bit more challanging, but thought me the use of volumes in terms of addition/subtraction & massing. While doing those i would minimize damge to site and reduce environmental impacts making my design as sustainable as possible.
