This assignment was based on the application of knowledge gained from the first project regarding site analysis . In groups of 2 we were required to now utilise the information gained from the site analysis done previously and construct an observation deck, which had to be inspired by something on site. 

 

As you can see above, the site we selected was ontop of a cliff, and was inspired by the tiny crabs we observed during the time on the beach. We studied the crab in details and derived the main idea from there, which we then exploited. From this particular assignemnt, i gained further knowledge about antrometrics and negative spaces and obviously the solutions that help improve the site without disrupting nature.

 

It tooks a while to derived the proper balance of what an observation deck really was, however in good time, the idead evolved and  taking advantage of the views as well as the shade from the tress on top of the cliff, whilst allowing natural ventilation allowed, our wooden observation deck to come to life.

 

Paying attention to the small things is very important, and so is the design process, deriving relating almost all and every aspect of it to the inspiration/concept whilst justifying was the objective and the learning outcome for me.
